Non qualified builders

Constructeurs non réalisateurs (CNR)

This applies to any builders or developers that are not actually qualified as builders, for example:


Obligations / Responsabilities

The non qualified "builder" must take out an insurance policy against damages to the works in his capacity as the owner and also a policy that covers his CNR (Constructeur Non-réalisateurs) 10 year liability.

If the project work is undertaken as a means to sell on the property within ten years after completion, the client must have a (CNR) policy to cover their liability as the Seller.

Assurance

Any non qualified builder must take out compulsory 10 year liability insurance on behalf of those who have carried out the building works. It covers the damage (over 10 years) as referred to in Articles 1792 and 1792-2 of the Civil Code resulting from CNR construction.
